This beautiful Ferrari 488 Spider just had OptiCoat Pro Plus 7 year ceramic coating installed.
When Tom first called us about his Ferrari I could tell he was very particular about just who laid hands on his beautiful car. On our first call I spent a bit of time telling him about who we are and how we do business. He quietly listened and asked a few questions, but I could tell that he wasn’t quite sold yet. Its hard to blame him for being a little cautious as the price tag on his car is just north of a quarter million dollars. Tom said he would get back to me and we ended the call.
The second call with Tom was much more focused on details (no pun intended). We went over the two Ceramic Coating packages that we offer and the main differences between the coatings. Both ceramic coatings protect from 0-14 on the Ph scale. Both ceramic coatings provide extreme hydrophobic qualities to the paint. Both coatings provide super high gloss as well. So just what is the difference? Without diving too much into a chemistry lesson for Tom I explained that the biggest difference is that the OptiCoat Pro Plus is actually a combination of the original Pro formula and the Pro Plus. The two coatings are laid down one right after the other to provide a dual layer of protection for the paint. The OptiCoat Pro formula comes with a 5 year warranty and the Pro Plus with a 7 year warranty.
After going over the details of the products themselves Tom inquired about the warranty and if the products really do last that long. The warranty is simple, your paint will be protected for the life of the guarantee, and if by chance your car is damaged in an accident, your insurance covers the reapplication on any replaced panels. The latter half of that question is one that we get a lot. The simple answer is YES our ceramic coatings really do last that long. I gave him several examples of other customers who had their cars ceramic coated almost a decade ago and are still being protected by the same coatings. Now I did say the simple answer was yes but there are some conditions. Unfortunately they haven’t made the indestructible car paint or car coating yet, maybe one day. So condition 1) No drive thru car washes, hand wash only!!! 2) No crazy internet tests on your paint to see if your coating can take it. There thats it! I have a feeling though that since you are reading this post that you are a responsible car owner that would never take your car through a drive thru wash!
Even after this long and very detailed conversation Tom still wasnt ready to pull the trigger yet so he did what any intelligent man would do….He had us detail his wifes car! We scheduled her car for that Wednesday and Thursday morning he called in to schedule the Ferrari for a Pro Plus ceramic coating install.
